Speed dating – En sjov aktivitet i klasseværelset

I forbindelse med en ny klasses opstart, er det altid sjovt med nogle lege, som samtidig giver faglig træning. Som opstart på dette år, kørte jeg speed-dating aktiviteten i mine klasser. Eleverne synes det var mægtig sjovt og var underholdt hele vejen igennem.

Formålet:
At lære hinanden at kende.
At bruge hverdags-engelsk.

Fordelen:
Deltagelse fra alle eleverne på samme tid.
Det er i trygge rammer (kun en person at snakke med af gangen).

Udviklingen:
Det kan nemt bruges med andre emner. f.eks. kunne aktiviteten køres med spørgsmål omkring et afsluttet emne, som en opsummering/evaluering på, hvad eleverne har lært og kan huske.

Forløbet endte således:

Nedenfor kan I finde spørgsmålene, som jeg brugte sammen med mine elever. I er mere end velkomne til at bruge dem, hvis I finder dem relevante i jeres undervisning.

Questions personal:
1. Where are you from?
2. Do you have any pets?
3. Do you do any after school activities?
4. Do you have a best friend?
5. What is your favourite movie?
6. What is your favourite song?
7. Tell me about your best day ever?
8. Where in the world would you like to go?
9. What do you want to do as a job when you get older?
10. Do you have any interests?
11. What is your favourite subject in school and why?
12. Tell me about your family?

Questions Holiday:
1. Where did you go on holiday?
2. Did you meet any new people?
3. Did you see any special animals?
4. What was your favourite meal?
5. How did you travel?
6. Did you see any special buildings or sights?
7. Who did you travel with?
8. Do you want to go again?
9. How was the weather?
10. Have you been at the place before?
11. What would be your favourite travel destination?
12. Where did you live?

Purpose/aim:
To get to know each other or learn about a holiday
To speak English about personal matters
To ask questions and listen

Form:
All the boys sit down at a table with a chair ready on the other side.
The girls each find a table to sit down at when the time starts.
After 1 minute the time will stop and the girls have 15 seconds to move to the next person.
It can vary how many different people they have to meet.
Either the students have to ask just one question, or they can choose between them.

Evaluation:
Let a student stand up, and ask out in class what people can tell about this person; what did they learn?

Did the students like the task? Was it difficult to talk? What could be interesting topics to talk about?
